Each year the Hazen Chamber of Commerce celebrates the area's rice harvest. It's a full day of fun for the whole family starting with a parade of antique tractors, trucks, cars and combine. The entourage ends at the east end Hazen Community Center where food vendors serve up BBQ, catfish and ice cream. Walking down the midway you'll find locals selling everything from honey, jellies, relishes and home-baked goods to jewelry and t-shirts. Music is provided by well-known bands and musicians. Bouncy houses and animal rides keep the kids busy. Smokey the Bear is always a special guest each year. It's all just good old-fashioned fun!
On Memorial Day of each year, the citizens of Hazen remember their fallen and active veterans with a morning ceremony in the gazebo city park. A guest speaker reminisces about their time served in the United States Armed Forces. National anthems from each division is played and attendees recite the United States Pledge of Allegiance.
An evening event called Party in the Park happens from 6-9pm. Twenty plus food and craft vendors line Front Street in the downtown gazebo area. Adults and kids alike are encouraged to wear their red, white and blue. In 2024, Midnight South, an American country band that utilizes shades of rock and roll, pop and old-time music entertained the guests... and they were great! At dusk, fireworks filled the sky for all to see.

One of the Hazen Chamber's most extravagant events is their annual Christmas in the Park. Over 2,000 luminaries line Front and Main Streets and the railroad track. Children as well as adults dress in their Christmas attire to stroll the downtown park in hopes of seeing Santa and his friend, Gingerbread Man. Downtown is aglow with holiday lights on business facades as well as hand-painted display windows by local artist Delores Tosh. Food trucks and craft vendors are open for business. A parade with all the splendor of Christmas makes its way through the crowd. Choirs and bands fill the air with music. A true memory to keep for all ages.
