About the Hazen Chamber of Commerce
Our Town
Hazen, Arkansas is located 40 miles east of Little Rock on Hwy 70 in Prairie County. Hazen's businesses, churches, schools and organizations work with the Hazen Chamber to make Hazen a safe and fun place to live. Many of the residents are from the lineages of the late 1800 settlers notably by their last names, and their families continue to grow!
Our Community
We are a farming community of over 100 years. Early settlers were of French, Bohemian, Swede, German, British and Slovac descent. Cotton was king in the area then but in 1905 rice was introduced as a commercial crop. Today, it continues to be and the Chamber still celebrates this rice industry with their annual Grand Prairie Rice Festival in Hazen.
